Beekeeper Cardigan - CLASS FULL
The Beekeeper is a fun knit and a great first sweater for the beginner knitter. This class will focus on the essential top-down construction that hosts a sweet texture of the honeycomb pattern and “little bees” throughout.
Students will learn how to manage increases and decreases, knit in the round, read stitches, repair mistakes, and wash and block their bee-utiful new cardigan!
Measurements: NOTE: Three to four inches of positive ease creates the easy, open-front fit of the Beekeeper Cardigan. The positive ease is built into the sizing below. There is no need to go up a size to achieve the positive ease; simply choose the bust size that accurately fits you.
To fit bust size: 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 44, 48 52) inches
Pattern: "The Beekeeper Cardigan" by Marie Greene (Oliveknits)
Yarn: DK weight wool
Yardage: 950 (1010, 1100, 1200, 1296, 1455, 1630, 1850) yards
Needles: US size 7-24” or -32” circular, US size 7-16” circular, and US size 7 DPNs (for body and sleeves of sweater) and US size 5-24” -32” and -16” circulars (for cuffs, neckline and front bands)
Gauge: 18 sts and 30 rows with larger needle in Stockinette Stitch
NOTE: please be prepared to adjust your needle size to achieve the stated gauge of the pattern. The correct gauge is critical to the fit of this garment.
