Port 101: Learn Portuguese Knitting
Want to learn a new way of knitting that isn't English or Continental? Need a way to knit that doesn't hurt your hands? Do you hate patterns with rows of purling or ribbing because it's soooooo slow? Have issues keeping your tension consistent? Come learn Portuguese Style knitting with us! Portuguese knitting is one of the most ergonomic ways to knit; easy on the hands and joints it is great for those who knit a lot or who deal with pain when knitting. Portuguese knitting also makes purling and ribbing super speedy.
In this class, you will learn the basics of Portuguese Style knitting - casting on and off, purling, knitting, ribbing, and working with two colors all while making a stunning cowl. Also included in the price of the class is a hand made Portuguese knitting pin.
Pre-requisite: You must have a basic understanding of how to knit and purl in either English or Continental (throwing or picking). This is NOT a beginner knitting class.

Materials:
2 skeins of contrasting colors-Worsted weight @ 210 yards each
US size 8 circular needles, 24 inch
Pre class Prep:
Cast on 110 stitches in your favorite cast on method with your main color.
Join in the round. Place a marker. Purl one round ( in your current knitting style)
