Knitter's First Steek: A Simple Bookmark

Steeking is the process used to cut ones knitting turning from a tube to a flat piece of fabric; most useful when working full colorwork items to avoid working colorwork flat. Coincidentally, it can also be one of the most intimidating parts of leveling up your knitting practice. Intro to Steeking is designed to help students learn the basics of steeking in a comfortable environment.

PATTERN: A pattern by Andrew will be supplied by the Tangled Ball around May 10th.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: Students will learn the basics of steeking through the making of a bookmark. Students will work swatches prior to class that will be used to learn basic steek reinforcement techniques though the bookmark will use a specific technique.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Intermediate. Students must be comfortable with working stranded colorwork in the round. This course is NOT an introduction to colorwork course.
