Ladder Back Jacquard - Intro

A Ladder Back Jacquard is a technique used in stranded color work to help catch long floats without needing to catch them in the traditional manner. Intro to Ladder Back Jacquard is designed to introduce knitters confident in their stranded colorwork skills to this technique.
PATTERN: Pattern for swatch will be supplied by Andrew the day of the class.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: How to work Ladder Back Jacquards and how they can be incorporated into their knitting.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Intermediate. Students must be comfortable with working stranded colorwork in the round. This course is NOT an introduction to colorwork course.
REQUIRED YARN: Available for purchase at the shop - 10% discount on class supplies.
Cascade Yarns ‘220’. 1 Skein each in two high contrasting colors.
REQUIRED TOOLS: Available for purchase at the shop - 10% discount on class supplies
- US size 7 Circular (if using magic loop) or Double Pointed Needles.
You will need at least a 37 in/93 cm cord if using magic loop on circular needles
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Stitch Markers
HOMEWORK: Please complete the following homework before class.
- Cast on 64 stitches in the color you’d like to use for your main color for the swatch using the long-tail method. Join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches.
- Knit 3 rows in stockinette stitch.
- Leave work on your needles and bring to class.
