Doodle Vest
This vest will teach you stranded colorwork in the round and then flat for the neck and sholders. The pattern provides the shaping, and you get to choose your doodles and colors! Choose a doodle book like The Doodle Knit Directory, or a doodle card pack from Pacific Knits or search up doodles for yourself online. You can have a colorwork border with a solid vest body or you can create doodles throughout. The options are endless and open to your own creativity. Bring your fun, playfulness, and love of colors or design, and we'll make cute vests together for the fall season!
The Doodle Vest pattern will be provided by Theo (the instructor of this class and the designer of the pattern!)
Sizes: 30.5 (34.5, 38.5, 42.5) (46.5, 50.5, 54.5)(58.5, 62.5, 66.5) in
Meant to be worn with positive ease (2-6 in), depending on fit preference. There is also an option to size in the middle between two sizes that I will teach in class.
Yarn yardage will depend on the amount of colorwork vs. solid you intend to use
- Main color: 300-500 (450-500, 500-600, 600-700) (600-750, 600-750, 700-800) (750-900, 800-1000, 800-1000)
- Contrast colors: 100-300 yds each, depending on how frequently/much a color will be used.
Needles:
- 4.0 mm (US 6) circular needles (length 24-48 inches, depending on body circumference) for body, or size to get gauge
- 3.75 mm (US 5) 24-48 inch circular needles for ribbing
Gauge:
22 sts and 28 rows = 4" in pattern
