Yarn Bowls by Jo Ann Yandle
Yarn Bowls by Jo Ann Yandle
What if you had a special place for
your knitting.
A vessel to cradle the yarn, a handle to carry it with ease, a sturdy base so it stayed where you wanted it. That is where I began my design of a knitting bowl. I am a knitter, too and I wanted a vessel so I wasn’t chasing after my ball, fretting over pet hair. I knew I wanted to carry it with me and so it needed a handle.
My artistic exploration makes each bowl unique. I use various techniques depending on the intention. Each is wheel-thrown then altered, hand painted, glazed and high ?red, and a ?nal trip to the tack shop for the rein leather. My joy is that another creator is using my work, so we are in this together. I hold an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and am a working-woman-artist. Enjoy creating!
